How we scaled Vertiball past $1,400,000 in 12 months.

Launch Strategy

We began working with Vertiball in September of 2019, following a Kickstarter campaign that saw mediocre results. 

Within just a few months we were able to take them past the quarter million dollar mark using only Facebook and Instagram advertising. Our launch strategy with Vertiball was quite simple:

Figure out a creative direction that would resonate with the masses, then scale horizontally to new audiences before scaling budgets. 

We started by optimizing for video views for 2 reasons:

1) Build data to create lookalikes based on the audience that had watched most of the video.
2) To split test creatives and copy against each other to find an angle that we could attack.

Once we gathered some data, we built top 10% lookalike audiences and when we had enough conversions for “View Content”, “Add To Cart” and “Purchase” we also build lookalike audiences around those events (we recommend AT LEAST 500 conversions before doing this). 

From testing, we decided to narrow on on the athlete/muscle recovery angle. Once our creative assets begin producing consistent results, we began pumping them through engagement campaigns to build as much social proof as possible. This gave our performance at the TOF level a nice bump.

We were able to curate creatives that outperformed the previous best by about 3.5x by incorporating user generated content with product demonstrations in fast-paced, engaging video ads. One thing we know for certain is that having a pipeline of quality video assets have been the core differentiator that’s allowed us to scale, regardless of the account. 

Once we found tested and proven creatives, we used our CBO scaling method to allow Facebook’s AI do a lot of the heavy lifting for us. We saw great results with broadening the targeting as the pixel gathered more data and we took advantage of the Holiday season by heavily retargeting warm and hot audiences with promotions. 

Using manual bidding strategies, we scaled quickly, by increasing our overall budget by about 30% every 24-48 hours, to make sure we were increasing ad spend, without affecting optimization. Once we hit our stride, Vertiball passed the $400,000 USD mark in the first 4 months.

We continue to work very closely with Vertiball to create a large volume of high-quality creatives and scale their paid advertising. Through our engagement, we’ve allowed Vertiball to sign deals with NFL talent like CeeDee Lamb, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Clelin Farrell. Vertiball also recently signed a deal with Dragons Den’s Arlene Dickinson.

An interior design company we scaled to $100k in our first two weeks working together.

When we started working with this interior design company they were just getting started. They we’re seeing some good results at a small scale but they came to us looking for help scaling up for Black Friday and Christmas. We worked with Engravory to redesign their website and get some new and fresh creatives to push through Facebook ads. 

Right away we saw a 2% boost in conversion rates, simply by adapting the copy to the holiday season and using emotional mechanisms in the product description.

Engravory came to us with the goal of hitting a 2.25 return on ad spend at scale. Using CBO campaigns, we scaled up quickly, doubling ad spend every 2 days. Because the product was priced around $90 we invested a lot of money into pushing people into our retargeting funnel where we offered an extra 15% off. 

This allowed us to hit a 4.15 return on ad spend with our main retargeting campaign and an overall ROAS of 2.68 throughout the time we worked with this brand. Although this was not one of our highest revenue accounts it was by far the fastest we scaled a client to these numbers. On our 6th day running ads we we’re able to hit just under 12.8k in revenue and we hit 100k in just 15 days.

We started working with Engravory again in November of 2020 and saw similar results. In total we’ve been running traffic for 4 months for Engravory and generated $307,000 USD on $112,000 ad spend for a total return of
